First Hole-in-One Becomes a Family Memory at the Spur Energy Tournament

This year’s Spur Energy Tournament at The Artesia Country Club, sponsored by Artesia Ford Sales, turned out to be a memorable day for Jarren Wadkins, and that moment came with one perfect swing.  

Having played in the annual tournament alongside his father and brother in the past, this year's event became one he'll always cherish. After golfing consistently for the past two and a half years and coming close to an ace on several occasions, he finally achieved every golfer's dream—his first hole-in-one.

Standing on the tee, he struck a solid shot and watched as the ball tracked directly toward the flagstick. From the tee box, he saw the ball disappear, but disbelief quickly set in.

"I saw it drop, but I couldn't believe it actually went in," he said. "I had to see it sitting in the hole before it really felt real."

The first person he wanted to tell was his dad, who was still on the green waiting to take his shot. Without hesitation, he pulled out his phone and sent him a text with the exciting news.

"The whole field went crazy," he recalled. "Everyone was cheering and congratulating me. It was an incredible feeling."

Sharing the experience at a tournament that has become an annual tradition with his father and brother made the accomplishment even more meaningful. What started as another enjoyable day of golf together turned into a memory the family will talk about for years to come.
