During the annual event at Orr Lake Golf Course, longtime golfer Silvestor achieved his first-ever ace, instantly becoming the defining moment of the tournament. Silvestor, who has been golfing for more than 20 years, developed his love for the game at a young age while spending time on the course near his grandparents’ home. While checking in, Silvestor joked with a volunteer, later calling out as the volunteer drove past the hole-in-one contest: “Want to see something special? Go to the hole and watch me make this hole in one.” Using his 7-iron on the turtleback green—guarded by a large tree on the left and a dense tree line on the right—Silvestor struck a clean shot that dropped straight into the cup, leaving both him and the nearby volunteers in disbelief and celebration.
As if the ace wasn’t enough, the day delivered another meaningful coincidence. Silvestor continued playing with the same ball used for the hole-in-one until it was lost near the water on a later hole. He picked up another ball nearby, only to discover it was marked with the date June 13, 2024—his wedding date. The unexpected connection made the moment even more personal, and he decided to keep the ball as a keepsake.
In keeping with golf tradition, a hole-in-one typically comes with buying drinks for fellow players, but Silvestor chose a more charitable route, donating that amount to the causes supported by the tournament instead. His generosity capped off an exceptional day that ended with him winning the entire tournament.
